GLOBAL INNOVATION INDEX 2011
Switzerland is the most innovative country in the world. This is evident from the Global Innovation Index 2011 to business school INSEAD. The index assesses 125 economies worldwide in their innovative capabilities and results.
Europe stands with six prominent countries in the top 10. Especially those in northern Europe scored well: Sweden (2), Finland (5) and Denmark (6). The Netherlands, this year's ninth place, followed by the United Kingdom.
Top of the rankings are also two Asian countries, Singapore and Hong Kong in the third to the fourth position. The U.S. and Canada are good for seventh, eighth, respectively.
